On our first day, we did a trip to Kells from Dingle and then back again. Kells is famous as the village we stayed in on our last night of our first holiday to Ireland.

On the second day, the plan was to sail through the Blasket Sound and on to Fennit. Unfortunately, only Graham was feeling OK following a night of entertainment in Dingle. A heavy swell North of the Blasket plus the wind being directly astern led us to seek shelter in Smerwick for the night. Smerwick turned out to have an excellent restaurant and one visitors buoy available for three boats. As we got there first, we didn't mind about that.

On day three, we completed the trip to Fennit. The restaurant at Fennit was, if antything even better than the one at Smerwick.

Day 4: Sailed under pressure to catch a plane to Kilrush. Three knots of tide were against us in the Shannon (important in a boat that does eight maximum) and the waves were choppy to put it mildly. We made it and failed to go aground at Kilrush in spite of a channel only two metres deep and about a foot wide on the approacjh to the lock.
