This is the treasure hunt which we organised for the Winchester's Cachers' Meet. Several people have asked for it to be posted as a virtual cache, so here it is. It'll take you about three hours to get round.
Each waypoint has one or more questions that relates to it. Some of the questions contribute clues to the location of the finishing post cache (but please note that digit "E" is missing, you'll have to guess it).
Bonus points are available for the photo quiz.
You can log the cache as found if you get to the final waypoint. Send your answers to me (jeremyp@easynet.co.uk) by e-mail and I'll publish your score. The highest on the day was 40 points which was extremely good considering the conditions.
Some waypoints are not very accurate partly because I didnÕt want to spend an hour at each one getting a perfect fix and partly to make some of the questions a bit harder :-)

My GPS was giving trouble here. Fortunately the position is written down. What is it? To prove you didn't guess, I'll need the first three digits of height too, the second of which is D. |

The waypoint is actually outside the building from question 9 but the answer is inside. In fact if you go in (donating £3.50) and get as close as possible to the waypoint, you won't be far away. Fred Nott died in 1841, but why did I chose his memorial stone? |

This is so flippin' obvious, you tell me the OS grid reference of Alfred the Great - within 50 metres of the reading I got is OK. While you're at it, there are two conflicting dates for his death. What are they? The century digit of the earlier one is G |
